The Icelandic economy is depending on the fishing industry but only about 3000 fishermen annually land about 2 million tons of fish. This can only be achieved by using the most advanced and productive technology available. An example of this efficiency is the fact it takes only three men with a forklift truck working in the hold about 7 hours to land 300 tons of iced fish in the Borgarplast tubs.

Borgarplast is an rotation moulding company, founded in 1971, and was the second plant, in Iceland, to receive the ISO 9001 certification and only the second rotation moulding company in the world to do so. The tubs are manufactured from Polyetfylene, whish has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for use in the food industry.
