SANYA, Hainan Province – The 4th National Smart Ocean Big Data and Artificial Intelligence Application Innovation Competition (2025) Results Roadshow was successfully held on December 10th in Sanya City, Hainan Province. This event marked the successful conclusion of the three-month-long competition, which aims to enhance the deep integration and application of marine big data and artificial intelligence across industry, academia, and research.

The competition, themed "Innovation-Driven Empowerment of Marine Governance, Digital Intelligence Integration Leading Industrial Collaboration," was hosted by the National Marine Information Center and co-organized by the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration, among others. Since its launch in September, it attracted more than 100 teams from universities, research institutes, and enterprises nationwide, resulting in over 50 entries covering cutting-edge innovations in marine big data, artificial intelligence, digital twins, and intelligent equipment.

High-Level Review and Widespread Attention
The results roadshow saw fierce competition among the 12 participating teams, whose winners were announced (detailed list attached). A distinguished expert review panel evaluated the projects, providing insights on application scenarios, technical routes, innovative concepts, and market potential.

Attending the roadshow and delivering speeches were Shi Suixiang, Director and Party Secretary of the National Marine Information Center; Cui Xiaojian, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Oceanography; and Lin Yuting, Chief Planner of the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Administration. Also participating were Yang Jinkun, Deputy Director of the National Marine Information Center and a member of the Expert Committee of the Marine Information Technology Innovation Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and Du Min, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Center.
The entire roadshow was broadcast live, attracting over 5,300 online viewers and garnering significant industry attention.

Impact and Future Outlook
The competition showcased a range of innovative achievements, including intelligent engines for marine ecological restoration and fishery forecasting, applications of digital twin technology for disaster prevention, and advanced marine information equipment for deep-sea resource exploration. These entries collectively promote a leapfrog improvement in marine data element guarantee capabilities.
Shi Suixiang highlighted the National Marine Information Center's core role in building a maritime power, emphasizing the commitment to continuing to empower the competition and actively building a platform for the integration of industry, academia, research, and application.

Cui Xiaojian outlined Hainan Province's efforts to build a strong maritime province, including the construction of the Hainan Provincial "Smart Ocean" data management platform and the plan to coordinate the construction of the South China Sea Marine Big Data Center.

Lin Yuting noted the goal of the Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City to build a demonstration park for deep-sea equipment research and application, fostering an innovative environment for marine science and technology workers.

The success of this year's competition, which has grown from its first event in Shaoxing, Zhejiang in 2022, to Tianjin in 2023, and Fuzhou in 2024, further solidifies its position as a high-quality national smart ocean brand event. The National Marine Information Center will continue to adhere to its four-pronged development path of "technological breakthroughs, platform construction, resource integration, and application enhancement" to continuously empower the high-quality development of the marine economy.
