Researchers from all over Europe will have access to IEO farming plants
(SPAIN, 4/18/2018)
The tenth call for access to the facilities of the AQUAEXCEL2020 project is open until May 14, including farming plants in Vigo, Mazarrón and ICRA, belonging to the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO).
These Spanish facilities are references in the research on farming of species such as grouper, turbot, octopus and bluefin tuna, among others.
AQUAEXCEL2020 is a research infrastructure project of the EU's Horizon 2020 program, which aims to support the sustainable growth of the aquaculture sector in Europe.
One of the key aspects of this project is to make it available for scientists to make use of the excellent facilities of the continent and, to this end, their use is offered to researchers from other countries through periodic calls.
The process procedure consists of accessing the online platform of the project, selecting the appropriate facility for the purpose of the experiment that is intended to be developed and completing the required information. A panel of experts will evaluate the interest of the proposal and if it is approved, the selected facility will be responsible for developing the experiments.
