Marel Innovations in the Spotlight at SPG 2014

Marel’s Stand at Seafood Processing Global 2014 has been a hive of activity since the doors opened yesterday, with visitors drawn in particular to the pre-launch of the revolutionary FleXicut water-jet cutter, and live demonstrations of other innovative equipment on display.
Marel is demonstrating a wide range of equipment and software solutions that reflect its leadership in fish processing innovation, and help fish processors optimize raw material utilization, ensure traceability and food safety, and improve processes throughout the value chain.

The whitefish section of Marel’s Stand 4-6227 targets processors of both wild and farmed whitefish species, such as tilapia, pangasius, bass and bream. In addition to the FleXicut, the latest SensorX bone detection system is also getting a lot of attention from processors interested in ways to produce superior quality, boneless fish products.

In the salmon section, Marel is introducing visitors to a new back-trim feature of the MS 2730 Filleting Machine that further optimizes yield and reduces the need for manual trimming.
Marel is also displaying the new generation of high efficiency pinbone removers, the MS2612 series, launched at Marel’s Salmon Showhow in February this year.
Other live demonstrations include grading, weighing, and packing applications designed to reduce giveaway and improve overall processing performance, and Marel specialists are on hand providing in-depth information and advice about the equipment.
