Sea Delight Makes Steady Progress Towards Commitments

  (UNITED STATES, 3/19/2013)

Sea Delight is devoted to the environment and protecting seafood resources. The company markets high quality frozen and fresh seafood products including wild caught yellowfin tuna, wild caught swordfish, mahi mahi and handline caught snapper and grouper.

By supporting the current sustainable seafood movement Sea Delight has developed working relationships with NGOs like WWF Indonesia, WWF Vietnam and WWF Coral Triangle Network Initiative to bring awareness of both overfishing and environmentally destructive fishing methods. Sea Delight has also partnered with the The Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise Program and FishWise.

Sea Delight markets high quality frozen and fresh seafood products

Since 2009, Sea Delight representatives have attended international workshops, forums, planning sessions and meetings to continue learning about global sustainability and responsible fishing practices.

These meetings provide the technical knowledge and assistance needed to review the company's products and identify areas of critical concern, as well as develop corporate policies and strategies relating to sustainability issues and practices.

Since the CTFF II (Coral Triangle Fishers Forum II), Sea Delight has made several significant steps towards meeting its commitments.

In Vietnam, Sea Delight has continued its Better Fishing Practice Initiatives (BFPI) with WWF. More than 60 longline tuna vessels have been supported in trying circle hooks for the first time. Many of these vessels have reported positive results with the C hooks and want to continue using them.

Sea Delight also supports the FIP (Tuna Fishery Improvement Project) effort to sustain a market-based solution and pressure decision-makers to improve management of the tuna fishery, including improved traceability systems and control of illegal fishing.

Sea Delight delivers superior products following its commitment to responsible business practices
