StarKist Creations Offers Five New Ways To Reel-In The Health Benefits Of Seafood

  (UNITED STATES, 9/16/2015)

StarKist Co., a food company focused on healthy, shelf-stable seafood products in the United States, has launched five new product innovations that build on their successful StarKist Creations line of pouch products: Salmon Creations in Lemon Dill and Mango Chipotle; Kid's Creations in Bacon Ranch and Honey BBQ; and a new Tuna Creations flavor, Hot Buffalo Style.

"At StarKist, we are committed to delivering healthy food to more people, and we are thrilled to offer consumers with more delicious and convenient ways to enjoy the benefits of seafood," said Andrew Choe, President & CEO, StarKist Co. "With the growing demand for healthy and on-the-go meals, we see an ongoing opportunity to grow our pouch business. Our single-serve pouch, which doesn't require any mixing or draining, is perfect to take anywhere – in the office, at school or following a workout."

The benefits of a diet rich in seafood are impressive. Research has also shown that people who eat at least two servings of seafood a week have lower rates of heart disease than those who eat less. In fact the Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends eating at least 8-12 oz. of a variety of fish each week – such as light meat tuna, salmon or shellfish.

Five new StarKist Creations varieties that offer great taste and lean protein perfect for lunch or a quick after-school snack.

Looking for an easy way to eat more seafood? Here are five new items from StarKist to get you started:

  • Tuna Creations: The new Hot Buffalo Style tuna pouch joins the StarKist single serve Tuna Creations line. As one of the fastest growing and best-selling condiments in the U.S., hot sauce adds the perfect kick to tuna.
  • Salmon Creations: One of America's seafood favourites is salmon, and now StarKist has added delicious flavours to its premium salmon for a taste that consumers are sure to enjoy. New Salmon Creations offer 100 percent wild-caught salmon in a StarKist flavour-fresh pouch and are available in Lemon Dill and Mango Chipotle flavours. These salmon pouches, which provide a natural source of omega-3 fatty acids, are delicious on a salad, perfect in a wrap or enjoy right out of the pouch.
  • Kid's Creations: To encourage kids to eat more fish and enjoy the health benefits of a diet rich in seafood, StarKist has introduced a line of tuna just for them. New Kid's Creations Pouches feature delicious flavours that kids already love, and the DHA Omega 3s they need. Bacon Ranch and Honey BBQ Kid's Creations are smart choices for lunchboxes and after-school snack or powering up before a practice or lesson.
