Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation is embarking on its 32nd year of working on behalf of the fishing industry in Alaska. We have a long track record of working with Federal and state fisheries management agencies, the fishing industry, and the scientific community to find ways to bring greater economic value and conservation to our fisheries.
As an entity that is affiliated with the fishing community yet does not have a governmental or regulatory role, we are in a unique position to partner with industry to explore new research and development opportunities that can lead to productive changes in fisheries management at a later time. To our knowledge, there is no other entity in this region that can perform such a role.
Alaska Fisheries Development Foundation is a 501 c (3) private, non-profit foundation dedicated to creating opportunities out of challenges in Alaska’s commercial fishing industry.
